Joni Mitchell, B.B. King, Bread & Roses Festival, Oct. 4, 1980. Canadian musician, songwriter, and painter who many consider the most-influential female songwriter and recording artist of the late 20th century. She started as a folk singer but moved hard to jazz in the 1970s, working with such noted jazz musicians as Pat Metheny, Wayne Shorter, Jaco Pastorius, Herbie Hancock, and Charles Mingus.
