Bukka White and Brownie McGhee, January 17,1975, Berkeley Blues Festival. Two pioneers of the blues. Delta blues guitarist and singer. Born Booker T. Washington (Bukka) White between Aberdeen and Houston, Mississippi, he gave his cousin B.B. King, a Stella guitar, King's first guitar. White himself is remembered as a player of National steel guitars.
McGhee, a blues singer and guitarist,is best known for his collaborations with the harmonica player Sonny Terry. During the blues revival of the 1960s, Terry and McGhee were very popular on the concert and music festival circuits, occasionally adding new material but usually remaining faithful to their roots and their audience.
